Xilinx Customer Community – Method 1. Use Startup Repair for Windows 10 Boot Repair

To guide you in the right direction, I need more information from the computer by answering the following questions:. Are you getting any error message when trying to boot up? Boot from the Windows 10 disc. Once selecting your language, time and keyboard settings, click Next to load the next window, then click on the Repair your computer link on the bottom left corner of the window.

You should then be presented with a Choose an Option screen, with Troubleshoot as an option to select. In the Troubleshoot screen , select Advanced options.

Select Automatic Repair from the Advanced options screen and then select the target operating system to repair, which would be Windows 10 in this case. Threats include any threat of suicide, violence, or harm to another. Any content of an adult theme or inappropriate to a community web site.

Any image, link, or discussion of nudity. Any behavior that is insulting, rude, vulgar, desecrating, or showing disrespect. Any behavior that appears to violate End user license agreements, including providing product keys or links to pirated software.

Unsolicited bulk mail or bulk advertising. Any link to or advocacy of virus, spyware, malware, or phishing sites. Any other inappropriate content or behavior as defined by the Terms of Use or Code of Conduct.

I cannot access anything, it is just black. I did the install directly off the internet so I have no disc. I have an HP laptop with windows 7 that was working just fine, upgraded to windows 10 and now get a blank screen when I log in after the windows logo appears.

I am unable to get to to the sign in screen. Turned off laptop, removed battery tried to start it again, but the same thing happens. It is very frustrating, and hope that I can do a recovery without loosing all my files. Windows 10 has a great deal of issues to fix! Please help. Rev Crocket. How can I download an ISO image when the computer wont boot on? In reply to sanmiguelF’s post on September 5, I have the same problem. Since installing Windows 10 my computer won’t boot. Just before the computer crashed a message came up stating the page had an error and needed to restart. I tried to restart the computer. I initially got to the windows logo and then the computer shut down again. This didn’t make me happy as I was in the middle of writing a report and now I can’t access anything on my computer.

Now it wont go past pressing the power button. I tried pressing F2, F12, and F8 when attempting to restart but nothing happens. Its acts as if had no power which isn’t the case. The battery is fully charged. Plugging the computer in doesn’t help. How can I try any of the posted suggestions when the computer won’t boot????

Give me back Windows 7. I heard Windows 8 had many problems and was advised not to upgrade to Windows 8. I wish someone had warned me about Windows 10!

I’m experiencing something similar. Windows went through the “scanning drives” process and then said it found problems, went on to “automatically fix” them, but couldn’t. I’m stuck in a never ending loop, unable to access any of my files or system in any way. How can I do the suggested fixes if it seems as though WIndows locked me out of my computer?

This is beyond devesating. In reply to StefanySmith’s post on September 16, Having same, my grandson installed win 10 back in August, I since had mid loading shutdowns and rebooting. I has attempt ed all troubleshoot on this forum, which led to one problem after another, finally i uninstalled win 10 backstepped to win 8; computer kept error message missing files, need to restart, yesterday i start the computer and the win 10 logo spinning, it did that for eight hours, i used the power buttom to shut it down, rebooted the repair screen came up and it been repairing itself for two hours, thinking it done, time to install an Android OS or buy an apple am pissed.
